The south section of the project is an important part of Xinglong-Yangjiang expressway G234 in national highway network planning (2013-2030), and the north section is a part of S234 in general provincial highway network planning of Henan Province. The project is located at the junction of the north and south sides of the Yellow River in the south of Jiaozuo City and the northwest of Zhengzhou city. The starting point is at the intersection of the Yuanyang-Jiaozuo expressway and S234, and the ending point is at the southeast of Beimagou village in Xingyang city and the end of Heyin hub interchange at the intersection of S312 (along the Yellow River fast-track). The total length of the route is about 26.4 km. The superstructure of the main bridge of the Yellow River Grand Bridge adopts 5 × (80+5×120+80) m prestressed concrete continuous box girder with variable cross section.

The project adopts the standard of six-lane class I highway, the design speed is 100km/h, the subgrade width is 33.5m, the lane width is 2 × 3 × 3.75m, the design load grade of the bridge is highway class I, and the approved total budget is 3647.7 million CNY.
