Zhengzhou-Airport expressway was built in 1994. It starts from Zhongzhou Avenue in Zhengzhou City and ends at the airport interchange. The total length of the route is 26.532 km. The newly-built Yingbin viaduct in the airport economy zone is 1.726 km long. It is the most convenient transportation channel connecting Zhengzhou urban area and airport economy zone. After 20 years of service and operation, the reconstruction and expansion were completed and opened to traffic in 2016. Together with the transportation network planning of modern Zhengzhou, it became a comprehensive transportation hub with the functions of public transportation, railway, aviation and information.

Henan Provincial Communications Planning & Design Institute Co., Ltd. has undertaken the project feasibility study, preliminary design and construction drawing design tasks, and has won the first prize of Henan excellent survey and design innovation award in 2017 and the first prize of highway transportation excellent design award in 2018.

"The Reconstruction and Expansion of Zhengzhou-Airport Expressway" was a supporting project of the construction of Zhengzhou airport comprehensive economic experimental zone, and one of the first batch of class-A key construction projects in Henan Province in 2014. The road network environment was complex and the construction significance was special. From the significance of the golden channel to the completion of the international image window, it will be more modern and three-dimensional, with more convenient transportation and more comfortable life, which will become the main theme of urban construction in the new era.
