The design speed of section Yexian-Wugang of Jiaozuo-Tongbai Expressway is 120 km/h, the roadbed width is 28m, and it is standard four-lane road.

According to the original design, K32+400~K32+700 is excavation section, with the excavation depth of 13.2m~28.7m in the central, and 20.0m~45m at the right side.

The landslide is located in the western suburbs of Wugang city, is a "bumpy" shape, the elevation difference between the front and back edge is about 39.0m. The front edge width of the landslide is about 231.0m, the slide distance along the movement direction is about 158.0m, the maximum thickness of the slide is about 16.80m, and the volume is about 900,000 m3. This is a large soil landslide, the slip tongue moved forward 9 to 29.0m. After well-developed study of this landslide, the anti-slip hole is adopted, and the split two-way four-lane arch tunnel form was confirmed, with designed speed of 100km/h and total length of 460m.
