The Yuzhou-Dengfeng is the western section of the Xuchang-Dengfeng Expressway. The route is 48.380 km long. The Chaoyanggou Tunnel, located in the southeast of Ludian Township, Dengfeng City, is two-way six-lane arch tunnel, with a total length of 310m, design speed of 100km/h, structure width of 14.25m, maximum depth of about 15m, minimum depth of only 7 meters. This is an ultra-shallow buried oversized span arch tunnel. The design and construction is so challenging because there is heavy-duty highway (Huaixia highway) over pass the Tunnel top, and there is a factory building (Chunsheng Refrasive Materials) above the tunnel.
