"Road Safety and Intelligent Traffic Technology Research Center" is based on the Transportation Engineering and Logistics Engineering Design Division of HNRBI, which integrates production with research, and promotes production with research.

At present, the research center has a number of research groups on traffic safety, traffic management, traffic mechatronics, intelligent transportation, logistics engineering, etc., with 48 R & D personnel, including 3 professor level senior engineers, 7 senior engineers, 65% of them have professional and technical qualifications above intermediate level, and more than 70% of them have graduate degree or above.

Since the establishment of the research center, the main task is to improve the level of road traffic intelligence, informatization and operation safety, and carry out scientific research, product development, system integration and other businesses related to road, urban traffic intelligence and traffic safety. The research involves the research and implementation of traffic policy, the application of intelligent networking and vehicle road collaborative pilot scenarios, and the sense and evaluation of road traffic operation status, traffic big data mining and situation analysis, simulation and optimization of road network traffic organization, intelligent control and management of road network traffic, public transport operation and service, traffic travel information service, road traffic safety evaluation, improvement and promotion of road traffic safety, road construction traffic relief, etc. It has successively undertaken 20 related research projects, such as the research on the platform construction planning of Henan comprehensive transportation information center, the key technology research of various free flow charging and whole process intelligent management and control demonstration project, the application research of big data analysis in modern intelligent transportation, the application research of intelligent management and control system of trucks for urban air pollution prevention and control in Henan Province, and the intelligent management mode of expressway traffic engineering and facilities along the line, Henan Province highway network operation monitoring information system construction research, Henan Province Urban Rapid Transit System (BRT) development research, e-commerce and express industry collaborative development research, Henan Province transportation and tourism integration passenger transport system development research, Henan Province highway freight hub (logistics park) construction guide research, Henan Province multimodal transport information resource sharing and application service mode research, Henan Province highway logistics development strategy research and other related scientific research projects. It has won the Henan Province industry innovation award, Henan Province excellent engineering consulting award and other scientific and technological awards, won four national invention and utility model patent.
