The consultant of this project was designated by the Bangladeshi army. On both sides of the national highway N8, the two-way four-lane highway need reconstruction. The total length of the route is about 55 km. It is a fully closed access control expressway, which is used to connect with the Padma Bridge from both sides. The project is located in the plain. The starting point of the project is located at the first Buriganga Bridge in Dhaka, and the end point is at the intersection (Bhanga) of N8 highway. The project does not include Padma Bridge and the approach bridge. The total length of the route is 49.5 km. The project is divided into two sections. The first section is from Dhaka to Mawa, with a total length of 29.1 km. The second section is Mawa to Bhanga, with a total length of 20.4 km. The works include: Topography, mapping, geological survey, alignment, subgrade and pavement, bridge and culvert, safety facilities, environmental protection, river bank protection and engineering economy. There are 14 on-grade crossings in the whole line. The total investment of the project is 37,933,439,080 Taka.
