“The Comprehensive Short-term Transportation Planning of Zhengzhou City” appointed the "Double 15" planning goals for the central urban area (Reaching the Fast-track in 15 minutes from the main city, and reaching the expressway in 15 minutes via fast-track to get out from the city). In 2010, the planning of increasing On/Off Ramp of Expressway was proposed to improve the urban road network of Zhengzhou, reduce the detour of vehicles entering and leaving expressways, and solve the problem of vehicle congestion in urban area. The interchange of Lotus Street and Southwest Ring Road was proposed to build in the northwest of Zhengzhou. Its main function is to reduce the traffic pressure of Gouzhao Station and Yulong Station, enlarge the development framework of High-tech Industrial Development Zone, and relieve the congestion of the main roads in the west districts of Zhengzhou. The interchange adopted the type of single-trumpet, with the design scope of xnhk1 + 190 ~ xnhk2 + 460 (including the scope of temporary auxiliary roads), with a total length of 1270m.
Road grade of the project: expressway for Southwest Ring Road is, urban trunk road for Lotus Street; Design speed: 120 km/h for Southwest Ring Road, 60 km/h for Lotus Street and 40 km/h for ramps; Subgrade width: 35m for Southwest Ring Road, 60m for Lotus Street, 16.5m, 9.0m and 9.25m for ramps; Pavement design standard: BZZ-100 standard axle load; Bridge load standard: Highway grade-I.
