The Interchange of South 3rd Ring Road and Airport Expressway in Zhengzhou city is a hub project connecting the South Third Ring Road and the airport expressway. After completion, it improved the traffic conditions of vehicles in the southeast of Zhengzhou and the economic environment of the adjacent areas, and improved the overall layout of "Ring Road plus radiation" of the city of Zhengzhou. It played an important role in reducing the traffic pressure of the central road network, enlarging the urban framework and speeding up the development of Zhengdong New District. The scheme of the South Third Ring Road under passing through the Airport Expressway with semi directional cloverleaf type is adopted and the toll station was removed. At the Jindai road direction the directional ramps were adopted, the South Third Ring Road being overpassed, and the airport road being under-passed; The left turn ramps adopts the form of cloverleaf, two cloverleaf ramps are connected by the feeder lane; At the location of undercrossing of non-motorized Lane on right turn ramp, it is partially elevated.

Road grade of the project: urban expressway for the South Third Ring Road, urban radiation line for the airport road. Calculation speed: 80 km/h for the South Third Ring Road is, 120 km/h for the airport road, and 40 ~ 60 km/h for the ramps. Subgrade width: 70m for South Third Ring Road, 37.5m for Airport Road, 10m for feeder lane, 10m for ramp, 8m for non-motorized Lane A and B.
