The Huaibin-Gushi Expressway is located in the southeast of Henan Province. It is an important part of the expressway network in Henan Province and Xinyang City. It is one of the two newly added expressways in the southeast of Henan Province according to the adjustment plan of expressway network in Henan Province issued by Henan provincial government in July 2009. Its construction will solve the problem of low density of expressway network in the southeast of Henan Province It plays a very important role in the formation of expressway network in Henan Province, improving the structure of expressway network and enhancing the comprehensive function of expressway network. It connects Shanghai-Shaanxi Expressway in the south, Huaibin-Xixian Expressway in the north, Daqing-Guangzhou Expressway in the West and Jinan-Guangzhou Expressway in the East, which is an effective supplement to the national expressway network and conducive to the overall benefit of the expressway network. From the perspective of the development demand of Xinyang City, the counties and cities under the jurisdiction of Xinyang City are basically located in the east of Xinyang City. Increasing the fast track in the east of Xinyang City is the demand of the rapid development of regional economy, which is of great significance to improve the efficiency of economic operation, promote economic exchanges, and strengthen regional ties.

The expressway starts from the east of Taitou Township about 4.0km west of Huaibin County in the north, and connects with the starting point of Huaibin-Xixian Expressway in the north. The end is located at the intersection of south of Shazigang, Fangji town and Hu-Shan expressway, setting G40 Hu-Shan hub interchange. The total length of the route is 66.586km. The standard of two-way four lane expressway is adopted. The design speed is 100km / h and the subgrade width is 26m.

Huaibin and Xixian are both big agricultural counties, and their economy is mainly driven by agricultural and it’ sideline products. Therefore, in the project design, our company takes the protection of farmland infrastructure, reducing the occupation of farmland, serving the society, respecting regional characteristics, overall coordination and respecting nature as the guiding ideology, follows the basic principles of "Safe, Environmentally Friendly, Applicative and Economical", and comprehensively considers the terrain, geology, environmental protection and other factors to scientific plan expressway and reasonable select technical specifications. At present, the project has been completed and opened to traffic.
