Zhumadian-Xinyang section of Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao expressway is an important part of the national expressway network and Henan provincial expressway network. It connects Luohe-Zhumadian section in the north, Dawu section of Hubei Province in the south. It is not only the main expressway artery carrying the national north-south transportation, but also the busiest transportation channel in Henan Province in the north-south direction. It is one of the "basic axes" of Henan Province's economic development.
As an important part of expressway traffic in Henan Province, Zhumadian-Xinyang Expressway starts from 1.586km to the north of South Zhumadian interchange, connects Luohe-Zhumadian Expressway to the north, passes through East Zhumadian, East Queshan, East Minggang, East Xinyang City, West Lingshan Town, and ends at the south of Jigongshan interchange, Henan Hubei Provincial boundary, with a total length of 136.879597km. Connecting the urban road network of counties and cities along the line through interchanges has good traffic radiation and distribution capacity for the whole province's traffic network. The eight-lane expressway standard is adopted for the whole line. Combined with the topographic and geological conditions and features along the line, the design speed is 100km / h, the overall double side widening subgrade width is 41.0m, the overall single side widening subgrade width is 47.25m, and the separated subgrade width is 20.5m.
After receiving the entrusted task, the designers team were organized to comprehensively collect the completion data of Zhumadian-Xinyang (Henan/Hubei provincial boundary) expressway, the maintenance data in recent years, and the statistical data of accident prone sections along the expressway, made in-depth research on the characteristics and difficulties of the widening project, and carried out comprehensive and meticulous design work on this basis. The project employer has repeatedly praised and affirmed the design achievements and high-quality after-service work.
